FLORENCE, SC — Peggy Deney Baker, 74, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Monday, December 24, 2012, with her family by her side.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 27, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church. Entombment followed in Darlington Memory Gardens Cemetery, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.

Mrs. Baker was born in Scottsboro, Alabama, a daughter of the late Wheeler and Bessie Lou Guffey Rodgers. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and active in various Women’s clubs of the church. She was owner and operator of Media Horizons Marketing and Advertising Company in Florence.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a son, Roger Lee Brown, who died in August of 2012.

Surviving are a son, Eugene Wesley “Buddy” Brown and his wife, Alison of Houston, Tx; daughter, Jill Deney Simmonds and her husband, Clay of Alexandria, Va.; brother, Ronald Rodgers of Lynchburg, Va; sister, Janith Coutret of Houston, Tx; 4 grandchildren, Caroline Grace Simmonds, Madeline Simmonds, William Simmonds, and Heather Brown; great-grandchild, Kaylee Farmer and a faithful companion, D. Ken Baker of Florence.

The family received friends 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at the Funeral Home.
