Eight spots left to be filled for BLWS lineup

EASLEY—With three teams already securing spots in the Big League World Series, teams across the world are competing to earn one of the final eight spots. In the United States, teams are competing in district and state tournaments, hoping to advance to one of the five U.S. regionals.

No date or site has been announced for the Asia/Pacific Regional tournament.

The Europe- Mediterranean-Africa Regional, commonly referred to as EMEA, is set for July 12-17 in Ramstein Germany. Germany, Moldovia and the Netherlands will compete for the chance to advance to the series in Easley.

The first regional in the United states is the Southeast, which is set for July 16-23 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Florida District 21 will be the host team. Other teams have not yet been announced.

The U.S. Southwest Regional is set for July 17-20 in Rushton, La. Louisianna District 5 will be the host teams. Other teams participating in the regional include the state champions for Colorado and Louisianna, as well as the Texas East and Texas West champions.

The U.S. West tournament will be held July 17-23 in Bremerton, Washington with Oregon, Hawaii, Nevada, Montana, Washington, Arizona, Southern California and Northern California competing for the title.

The U.S. Central tournament will be held July 19-24 in Wyoming Michigan. Teams for that tournament have not yet been announced.

The U.S. East Regional will be held July 18-24 in Dover, Delaware. Teams have not yet been announced for that tournament.

The Canadian Regional will be held July 22-26 in Regina, Saskatchewan. Teams have yet to be announced for that tournament.
