PICKENS – Lifelong resident of Pickens County and 2006 Pickens High School graduate, Tye Nalley, is now a road patrol officer for the Pickens City Police Department.

“I have always been involved in team sports, and being a member of the Pickens City Police Department is the ultimate team,” Nalley said.

He joined the Pickens Police Department in 2011 and is a 2012 graduate of the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy.

“The people in the community of Pickens are very nice and that makes it very easy to work here,” Nalley said.

Nalley is Standardized Field Sobriety Test certified, Data Master Certified, and has Advanced Roadside DUI Detection training.

“He has a very strong work ethic and is a very good officer. He always has a smile on his face which makes the work environment a more pleasant place to be, “said Assistant Chief Travis Riggs.

Nalley is also a light aircraft pilot.

“I am a pilot of ultralight aircraft and do a lot of flying on the weekends. I have been flying since I was 16-years-old and Pickens County is a beautiful place to fly over,’ Nalley said.
