PICKENS COUNTY – Lifelong Liberty resident and Master Deputy Bryan Langston of the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office wants to make a difference in his community.
“It means something to wear this star on your chest. It comes with responsibility and a higher sense of character. If I can make a difference with just one man, woman or child, my day has been worth it all. We are here to serve and protect but we are also part of the community where we live and serve,” Langston said.
He is a 1978 graduate of Liberty High School where he played football, basketball and track.
“After one year of college and working with my dad for 22 years, I was convinced by a former classmate to make a career in law enforcement. Of course, I am honored to serve and protect my fellow citizens,” Langston said.
He is a 2004 graduate of the S.C. Criminal Justice Academy and joined the sheriff’s office that same year on road patrol.
Langston became an environmental officer in 2008 and has been tested in field sobriety.
He also holds a data master certification and has over 300 hours of specialized training.
“I enjoy making a difference for the environment of our county and meeting interesting people, and I hope to continue my career in law enforcement for many years to come. I am happy to serve my community and to do whatever my duties ask of me,” Langston said.
