Wren falls to Eastside in district championship
PIEDMONT—Despite a season full of success, top-seeded Wren High was ousted by Eastside in the district championship Saturday night. The Wren Baseball team was unable to find the offense it needed during a crucial stretch of the game, and fell during a 4-1 battle. The Hurricanes finish the season 21-8. Bonnie Walls of Powdersville and a freshman at Spartanburg Methodist College was recently named Miss Spartanburg Methodist. She will be competing in the Miss South Carolina Pageant July 7-13 in Columbia. Her platform for the competition is “Get Involved: Helping those in need.” She plays soccer, runs track at SMU and is a 2012 graduate of Wren High School. Her parents are Leroy and Judy Walls of Powdersville.
