ANDERSON — Midway Elementary and T. L. Hanna High School are on lockdown status because a student reported seeing a man in the area with a gun.
Anderson County Sheriff’s deputies are searching the areas around the two schools after a student at the elementary school, at 1221 Harriett Circle, reported seeing a man in the woods that surround the school around 9:30 this morning.
According to the student, the man was not on school property, walking toward the school or pointing anything at the school.
So far the ground search, bloodhound search and air search has not been fruitful. As of this moment, no one has been located.
Deputies are still on the scene.
The schools were placed on the lockdown status by the School District out of caution.
