PICKENS COUNTY — The second phase of Operation Community Response resulted in 38 arrest warrants being issued in connection with 66 charges ranging from possession to trafficking in drugs that ranged from marijuana and cocaine to methamphetamines.

The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office made the announcement of the arrests at a press conference held last Thursday. Phase one of Operation Community Response last November resulted in 56 arrests and 79 charges.

Sheriff Rick Clark said the arrests were made through community action and work in conjunction with the ATF, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, S.C. Department of Probation and Parole, Easley Police Department and Pickens City Police Department.

Clark was clear that Pickens County has zero tolerance for this type of criminal activity.

“If you have had property stolen, it was most likely because the thief was simply a prisoner to the addiction of methamphetamine or had a dependency on prescription drugs,” he stated. “As I have repeatedly said over and over, the communities within Pickens County are no longer going to tolerate it and they have formed a relationship with law enforcement to run the drug trade out of Pickens County.”
