CENTRAL – Southern Wesleyan University has released it fine arts calendar for spring and it’s sure to have something for everyone. Unless otherwise noted, admission is free, no ticket required, and open to the public. Unless otherwise noted, events are held in Newton Hobson Chapel and Fine Arts Center. Here is a look at upcoming events:
This year’s SWU student production will take you on a journey with the four Pevensie children through the wardrobe to visit the magical land of Narnia. The musical will be held in Folger Auditorium. Call 864-644-5191 for ticket information. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for non-SWU students and seniors; and $5 for children under 12. SWU students are admitted free. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. March 28 and March 29. A matinee will be offered at 2 p.m. March 29.
Music Majors Formal Recital
Southern Wesleyan University music majors are featured in the Music Majors Formal Recital. The event is part of Southern Wesleyan University’s annual Fine Arts Series. When: 4:30 p.m. April 4.
Come listen to an afternoon of inspirational gospel music by some of the area’s finest gospel choirs. Admission is free. This event is a part of a week-long Clemson Area Blues Festival. When: 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. April 13.
Music Majors Honors Recital

SWU Concert Choir “Pops” Concert
The Southern Wesleyan University “Pops” Concert is back. Sandwiched between staged medleys of “Phantom of the Opera” and “Les Miserables,” soloists, duets and small groups will perform Broadway melodies. The event is part of Southern Wesleyan University’s annual Fine Arts Series. When: 7:30 p.m. April 26.
SWU Jazz and Wind Ensembles
