A woman was flown out to Columbus Medical this morning following a car wreck at the intersection of Hamilton Road and Hardy Road.

According to officials on the scene, at 8:16 a.m., a Buick was driving southbound on Georgia 1 when it crossed over into the southbound lane crashing head-on with a Oldsmobile driving southbound.

The driver of the Oldsmobile was trapped in her car and had to be extracted out by fire and rescue, however, officials reported no serious injuries.

The trooper on the scene said she was alert and conscious.

The driver of the Buick reported his car lost power, causing his brakes and steering to lose power as well when he crossed over into the other lane.

The impact of the crash caused both cars to spin out according to officials.

No citations have been written yet as investigations are ongoing, though the trooper said the cause is listed as failure to maintain lane.

No serious injuries were reported by either driver.
