SENECA – A 41-year-old Central man was arrested last Friday afternoon and charged with grand larceny after he allegedly took about $4,000 from his grandfather’s house in Seneca.

Bond on Chad Jeremy Dalton of 268 Peach Drive in Central was set at $5,000 surety.

According to deputies, a resident of South Walnut Street in Seneca reported that he allowed his grandson to spend the night with him on March 13 and discovered the money was missing the next morning. The man told police that the only people in the house were him, his wife and his grandson.

The man said the money was in a safe in the basement but the safe had been left open because the lock was rusted. He also told officials that Dalton had gone downstairs to get some clothes but was ready to leave when he came back up.
