ANDERSON – The Anderson County Sheriff’s Department is looking for a man who wrote a bad check to pay for lawn equipment and other items valued at nearly $19,000.
William Todd Dale, 49, of 1273 Nazareth Road in Lexington, wrote a check for $18,951.74 to Rogers Outdoor Equipment, 6601 U.S. 81 North in Piedmont, on July 2. The check, which was written on an account for T&L Home Improvement, was returned for insufficient funds.
Dale took possession of one Kubota lawn mower valued at $4,529 and one Kubota lawn mower valued at $12,500. He also took possession of two Stihl leaf blowers valued at $425 each.
Dale is considered dangerous and has been noted to have violent tendencies. The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office has an active arrest warrant for him on a charge of obtaining goods under false pretenses more than $10,000. He is also wanted in other jurisdictions for similar crimes.
