Hendricks resigns as Pickens city administrator

PICKENS — The city of Pickens has announced the resignation of City Administrator Katherine Hendricks as of a special called session of City Council on June 30.


According to a press release issued by the city, Hendricks officially submitted her resignation in executive session and was accepted by city council. The release went on to state Hendricks had accepted the position of Assistant Town Administrator with the city of Mount Pleasant.


The city of Pickens has announced it will discuss solutions for an interim administrator over the next week and anticipates making an appointment at the next regularly scheduled council meeting July 7. Hendricks’ final day with the city will be July 31.


In the interim the city will place a posting for a full-time administrator in the next few weeks.


“We wish Ms. Hendricks all the best in her position and thank her for the five years she has served as City Administrator for Pickens,” the release stated on behalf of Pickens City Council. “We have accomplished a lot in the past five years and look forward to carrying many projects across the finish line.”
