LIBERTY — A recent Liberty High graduate has decided to continue his football career at Wofford College.
Jakob Dismukes, who just put the finishing touches on his high school career in May, committed to play with the Terriers earlier this week, and will join them as soon as possible.
Liberty Athletic Direcrtor Sherry Haithcock said Dismukes was an established leader during his time with the Red Devils. Dismukes was awarded the LHS faculty scholarship and was Liberty’s male Wendy’s High School Heisman nominee.
Dismukes was also All-Region All Academic and, in addition to football, the Wofford commit wrestled and was on the track team while at Liberty.
“Jakob was a centerpiece for our offensive line for the past two years. His unit helped us establish a strong rushing attack and gave our backs a lot of success,” Liberty Football Coach Kyle Stewart said. “Jakob is a tremendous worker and passionate about his studies, family, faith, and of course football. He is one of those kids that you don’t have to worry about. You just know he will do the right thing. I wish him all the best at Wofford. I know he will succeed.”
